Oil paint – Sculpture – Digital Artistry – Murals

Norah Anne Snyder is an artist who, in the late of night often finds herself dreaming of a greater place, surrounded by trees, an open sky, billowing clouds, and a connection to the natural world. She physically envisions her body touching the soil, listening to the trickles of streams and bubbling of geysers, the rush of waterfalls, and the essence of juniper afloat in the air. In a world where the pressures of success can drag her spirit down, the comfort of fernweh, the act of wanting to be somewhere else, enlightens her creative spirit and soothes her qualms. Norah’s chosen medium, oil paint, reflects her intensity for color, and a raw desire to uncover her own truth, of knowing where she needs to be, and where the world finds her.

She is a full blooded Appalachian artist who specializes in capturing the natural world through bold designs and use of color. She is currently attending Shepherd University, and has experience working on two mural projects with a team directed by experienced Muralist Sonya Evanisko. From her experience working on these projects, she has become comfortable working on large surfaces, her largest project scaling 20 by 15 feet, where she utilized paint rollers and became comfortable working at a high height; and in the sun and heat. The second project she has participated in, are wooden panels cut into vegetable shapes for Tabler Farm in Shepherdstown, WV. Norah is excited to begin any new projects in the future, long or short term.

Norah has spent countless hours working on projects at the Center of Contemporary Arts studio, working on projects for her capstone Exhibit before her graduation from Shepherd in 2027. She has taken up a multitude of commission based works for clients, to keep her dreams afloat.

Norah uses her digital experience to plan designs for mural projects, and continues to combine her skills in future escapades.
